D and I both wanted to get away from the city for a while. But with Baby E, things are not always so simple.
We decided to stay close (about a hour and a half drive) but go far enough so that we would feel like we were actually on a vacation. We decided on Camano Island, WA and we are not sorry we did.
We rented a cozy beach cottage that was just steps from the rocky Tyee Beach and the waters of Port Susan.
This island requires no ferry to get to, which was great. Especially with a baby who likes to blatantly declare his hatred for his car seat at the top of his lungs.
There was no end to the quaint seaside charm on the island. Every cottage had something interesting about it. I was smitten.
The weather was perfect.
Grey, misty mornings gave way to brilliant blue skies and sunshine with a cool sea breeze.
The sunsets were to die for.
The small town atmosphere was very inviting. Everyone said or waved hello when we went on our walks to explore the beach or the local architecture.
That’s all the posting I’ve got in me for now. It’s amazing how much a relaxing getaway can tire you out!
I have lots more photos of our trip to share, but my iPad is giving me a bit of a tough time tonight. Hopefully I can get part two of this post done in the next couple days!
